you are looking for our 19 endemic bird species, a 3d/2n
birding trip package focused in the endemic in the west
and southwest of Puerto Rico.

3d/2n Isla del Caribe (Southwest Corridor)

DAY 1

  • 7:30 AM Pick-up at your hotel in San Juan with a short stop in
    Caguas for the Plain Pigeon and then Aguirre (Antillean
    Crested Hummingbird and Green-throated Carib).
  • After lunch, we will drive to La Parguera for endemic birds,
    such as: Spindalis, Bullfinch, Tody, Yellow-shouldered
    Blackbird, Flycatcher, Adelaide´s Warbler, Emerald, Mango,
    plus Venezuelan Troupial and Caribbean Elaenia.
  • Night outing in search of the Puerto Rican Nightjar and,
    depending of the time of the year, Antillean Nightjar.
  • Dinner at La Parguera.
  • Ovenight in La Parguera or Guánica (depending on the
    season availability).
  • Check-in at Posada del Mar, then we will go for endemic bird
    species (Spindalis, Bullfinch, Tody, Yellow-shouldered
    Blackbird, Flycatcher, Adelaide´s Warbler, Emerald, Mango),
    plus Venezuelan Troupial and Caribbean Elaenia.
  • Night outing in search of the Nightjar and depend of the time
    of the year, Antillean Nightjar.

DAY 2

  • 7:30 AM Drive to Maricao in search of more endemics
    (Lizard Cuckoo, Tanager, Owl, Woodpecker, Vireo, Green
    Mango, and rare endemics, Elfin-woods Warbler, Amazon)
  • Brunch at Erik´s Bakery and birding while looking for our
    endemics. If necessary, we will keep longer and wait for our
    Owl.
  • If we arrive early, you will have free tiime on your own (enjoy
    the pool!).  If we were not lucky last night, we go for a second
    chance for the Nightjar until 7:30 PM; otherwise you can book
    a biobay tour and sponsor a local business (not included in
    price).
  • Dinner on our way to hotel.
  • Overnight in La Parguera or Guánica.

DAY 3

  • 7:00 AM Early birding close to the hotel looking for our
    lovely endemics.
  • 8:30 AM Check-out and departure to Laguna Cartagena
    (West Indian Whistling Duck,  White-cheeked Pintail, Masked
    Duck, Purple Gallinule, and rare Yellow Crake).
  • We will have a picnic style lunch and then drive to San Juan,
    we should arrive in San Juan on or before 2:00 PM
  • Drop-off in San Juan around 2:00 PM.
