When you book online, the software from the company that handles our booking system (Peek.com)
will send us a text message and an email to confirm or deny your reservation within the next 24 hours.
We will proceed to check your answers, specially the ones related to these terms and conditions,
and will contact you on the phone just in case you have any questions regarding selected service.
If needed, we will modify your booking while talking with you on the phone.
We reserve the right of admission.


  • All prices and discounts are subject to change without notice.  
  • Written quotations and/or discounts are valid for 30 calendar days from the date of quotation/discount and are
    subject to availability from the quotation/discount date to the date final booking is made. If you want to hold the
    date, a non-refundable deposit of $250 is required.
  • Verbal quotations expire 24 hours after they are made.
  • We reserve the right to revise prices of work in process, the production of which is delayed for a period in excess of
    30 days due to any act of Buyer.


  • AdvenTours is not responsible for the loss, damage, theft of luggage or personal belongings, or for personal injury,
    accidents or illness.
  • For your protection, it is important and strongly recommended that you have or purchase adequate insurance,
    including trip cancellation and interruption of trip through your authorized travel agent.

  • November 13, 2022, Discover Puerto Rico Travel Guidelines:  "HOW CAN TRAVELERS PROTECT THEMSELVES? We
    urge those visiting to adhere to the measures put in place by the government of Puerto Rico, which can be
    referenced here.  Additionally, travelers should adhere to health travel practices to help protect themselves and
    prevent the spread of disease. These are the same personal best practices that are standard for a typical flu season
    and include avoiding close contact with people who show signs of illness, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and
    mouth with unwashed hands, and washing your hands often with soap or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
    that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. For more information, visit the Centers for
    Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage.
  • "DO I HAVE TO WEAR A MASK AFTER RECEIVING THE COVID-19 VACCINE? Masks are not required on the Island.
    However, various establishments reserve the right to require masks for patrons and employees."  
  • It is understood that you have complied with local authorities requirements regarding CORONAVIRUS. We reserve
    the right to ask for these documents before starting the trip.
  • All participants should and must keep from 6 to 9 feet distance from your guide.
  • To join us, you should and must use your face mask in all our trips. We will only accept clients with the following
    face mask: N95, KN95, FFP1, or Surgical Mask 3 Layers (3 Ply).
  • Whether you are using binoculars or handling a camera, you should and must use your face mask. Birders should
    keep your face mask while looking through your binoculars or handling your camera.
  • When traveling with relatives or friends, the person who books any activity with AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO
    is responsible for each one of his/her companions to use the face mask in a proper manner.
  • Any person that shows symptoms associated with any variant of Covid-19, will not be allowed in any of our
    activities. We will follow local authorities requirements and proceed to inform CDC of such incident. We reserve the
    right to take your temperature if you show any Covid-19 related symptom.
  • Deposits and/or payments are non-refundable. If we need to cancel your reservation due to local authorities
    restrictions (lockdown) or that you or any other person in your group shows Covid-19 related symptoms, you will
    be allowed to use paid amounts in any other time for a period of one year.
  • As with Covid-19 Protocol, the person who books any activity with AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO should and
    must inform his/her companions that our activities are for non-smokers and that we don´t allow the use of insect
    repellent (ask your guide before using anything with strong perfumes).
  • AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO can cancel or terminate any activity without refund for unused portions if this
    Protocol is not followed.
  • It is understood that when you complete the booking process and pay required deposit or payment for selected
    activity, you agree with our Covid-19 Protocol and our General Terms and Conditions.


  • As per our General Terms and Conditions, all deposits/payments are non-refundable.
  • CRUISE SHIPS:  When cruise ships are unable to dock within 72 hours prior to pick-up time, you will be allowed to
    use any money paid to us within a year.  You should send us an email not later than 72 hours prior to meeting
    Guide on port.  If cancellation is made with less than 12 hours and we don´t have enough time to cancel or
    reschedule the Guide, transportation or food, any money paid to us will be non-refundable.


  • Our staff will be monitoring the weather for your safety through official alerts from the Government.  Your guide
    and/or driver will cancel or reroute your walk if her/she believes that potentially dangerous situations are probable
    due to weather conditions.
  • When cancellations are made by us, you will be given the option to reschedule the trip or receive a rain check
    valid for one year.
  • If a client decides to cancel before departure time due to weather forecast and before our decision making, our
    cancellation policy will apply as we will not refund your payment.
  • We highly recommend that you buy a travel insurance with cancellation cover before departure to your final


  • Written notice is required for all cancellations 72 hours before departure date.
  • You will be allowed to use any money paid within the next year for the same selected tour or any other activity of
    the same price.  If the price of selected activity has changed, the difference will be charged to your credit card upon
    your approval.
  • Please, do not leave voice messages or send text messages; you must contact us on the phone and send
    written cancellation notice via email.  Do not assume that we have received the message; always confirm with
    our staff if you don´t receive a communication from us; otherwise, balance due will be charged to your credit

CANCELLATIONS (after departure)  

  • There can be no adjustment for unused portions of a program unless arrangements have been made with our
    company prior to departure and confirmed via email.
  • Refunds will not be made for unused hotels, tours or meals, if applicable.
  • No refund for last minute cancellations, no show at meeting point, or pick-up hotel/port.  Balance due, if any, will be
    charged to your credit card.
  • We will keep informed on canceled or delayed flights; you should contact us as soon as possible either with our
    office or the driver that will pick up your group.


  • If for any reason local Government order another lockdown, or there is an event, such as: earthquake, hurricane or
    war, you will be given a credit from funds we can recover from contractors for the services not used, if applicable.  
    This credit will be available to use on your next visit to Puerto Rico within the next year.
  • Any trip to El Yunque National Forest is subject to delays in the road o closing the Forest due to reconstruction of
    roads and facilities due to hurricanes Irma and María. We will give you an alternate date for selected activity or
    modify the route or tour you booked with us.  If you are unable to accept, you will be allowed to use any money
    paid in your next visit to Puerto Rico within the next year.


  • The only responsibility from AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO is to refund your payment if the activity is canceled
    by us prior to departure.
  • If for any reason we must withdraw a departure on which you are booked and you are already in Puerto Rico,
    and you are unable to accept alternate tour or date/s which will be offered, all monies paid to us on the
    canceled tour will be refunded, including non-refundable deposit, within the next 15 working days.
  • If we need to end the trip because our non-smoking policy or Covid-19 Protocol is not followed, no refund
    will be issued.


  • Due to COVID-19, transportation is limited. Please contact us if you need transfers or transportation.  
    Nevertheless, transportation services are expensive in Puerto Rico, we suggest renting a vehicle and meet our
    guides on site.
  • PET FRIENDLY - We provide transportation and transfer services for your dog or cat.  Depending on the vehicle
    to be used, only service dogs (lap dogs) will be allowed.  In larger vehicles, larger dogs are allowed.  Please contact
    us for more information.
  • Local Laws require the use of the seat belt on any vehicle, whether you are seated in the front or last row of
    seats.  As a client, you have the responsibility of using the seat belt immediately you are inside the vehicle and until
    the engine is off.  If you are part of a birding trip and you see a bird you should wait until the driver allows you to
    step out of the vehicle. We are not responsible of any injury you might have if you don´t follow these instructions.
  • Local Laws require the use of a car seat for children.   This requirement is the same one as in the United States.   
    Parents must bring a car seat of each kid according to their age, height, and weight.  We will not allow children
    without car seats or seated on an adult lap.  If you need to feed your baby, we will stop in a safe place.  Remember,
    cleaning policies apply.
  • When you meet your guide on site, you should provide your own transportation (car rental).
  • Commercial vehicles are not allowed during our trips unless transportation has been arranged by us.
  • Due to regulations at El Yunque National Forest, commercial vehicles that are not under our special permits are not
    allowed to offer transportation to the Forest.  This applies to some birding trips, El Yunque Hidden Wonders, Rain
    Forest Trek and Mt. Britton Hike.

  • Trash free zones applies to all places we visit and to our vehicles.  We need vehicles in the best top conditions.


  • You should arrive for check-in at least 15 minutes before departure. Deposits are non-refundable. No refunds for
    late arrivals or no-shows. Balance due, if any, will be charged to your credit card.
  • In case you will be late, you should notify assigned guide, driver and/or our office via phone. Please do not send
    last minute text or voice message as they can be driving and it is illegal to read/send text or emails in Puerto Rico
    while driving. Also, messages not necessarily arrive on time. There is a $75 per hour fee for waiting time (starts
    after 15 minutes of waiting).
  • Any formal communication regarding your reservation should be made by email using your confirmation number
    on the subject line, not by text message, Facebook or WhatsUp to require information once you have booked an
    activity or tour.
  • Our staff will wait a maximum of 15 minutes unless you contact us at least 12 hours before the selected activity to
    inform that you will be late. Please remember that we could have another service scheduled after yours. A shorter
    version of the tour will be offer on late arrivals. A waiting fee will apply.


  • We reserve the right to decline or retain any person(s) as member of the tour at any time.
  • We always ask clients to contact us via phone upon arriving in Puerto Rico (2:00 PM through 9:00 PM).   If you
    don´t have a working cell phone, please ask Concierge or Front Desk to contact us.
  • For maximum enjoyment of your tour, you should be in a good physical and mental health, able and willing to
    actively participate in solo or group events, and to walk and move about when the tour visits places of interest
    which can be reached only on foot, and able to participate in van, boat, kayak or bike trips.
  • Trip participants who required any form of assistance must be accompanied by a travel companion who is capable
    of, and totally responsible for, providing assistance.
  • It should also be noted that there are attractions which require walking to observe and enjoy.
  • Because our programs required walking and due to space restrictions, customized tours for the handicapped can be
  • If you are going to use your own insect repellent DO NOT USE spray as it goes to the plants, river streams and
    directly to other hikers or visitors in the area.
  • A comprehensive sightseeing program is included as indicated in each itinerary.  Please note that when “see” or
    view” are specified in the itineraries, it denotes an outside view; visit” or “short stop at” usually includes entry.
  • For people with allergies or extreme breathing conditions, air quality is not the best during the Hurricane Season
    due to the Dust of the Sahara, ashes of Monserrat Volcano combined with possible high concentration of mold and
    humidity.  These conditions could happen a few times and the frequency could vary from one year to the other.
  • Swimming is not allowed during any of our activities.
  • WILDLIFE OBSERVATION: When you book a wildlife viewing activity, you must bring your own equipment
    (binoculars, scope, tripod, camera, lenses, etc.).  We do not provide or rent equipment.  


  • When a person books an activity with the minimum required, we open it as a SPECIAL SHARED EVENT in order that
    other customers can join.
  • If you prefer that other customers don´t join you, you should book the activity as a private one.
  • A bird outing offered as a SPECIAL SHARED EVENT is not considered a bird photography trip, it is only birding.
  • Bird photography is offered only as a private activity.
  • In all our bird outings you need to bring your binoculars.  If you don´t have binoculars and plan to use your camera
    with zoom (long lens), you SHOULD and MUST book a private birding trip, no exceptions. We reserve the right of
  • Solo travelers opening a SPECIAL SHARED EVENT will be charged the minimum of participants required to offer a
    trip if that minimum is not reached.
  • If a solo traveler decides to cancel and other customers have already booked for that particular activity, the balance
    due will be charged to the credit card of the solo traveler who started the reservation.

GIFT CARDS (Added on November 28, 2022).

  • Gift Cards (Certificates) are sold in our website as cash gift cards with preselected amounts to be applied towards
    any of our birding trips.
  • Terms and Conditions on this page, plus special terms and conditions per activity applies.
  • Gift Cards are valid for one year from purchase date.


  • BIRD OUTING VS BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY: regular birding trips are not bird photography trips. Birders use their
    binocular to find birds, not a camera.  Many birders don´t like to be mixed with bird photographers.  
  • It is understood that when the main purpose of your trip is to take pictures of the birds, the trip is considered a
    private bird photography trip.  Bird photography trips are birding trips that are offered as a customized alternative
    and on a private basis.  If you book a regular trip instead of a bird photography trip, we will make the necessary
    changes in your reservation and charge your credit card for the difference in price as for this type of activity we take
    other routes.

  • When requesting a quote, please let us know the equipment that you will bring: binoculars, camera, tripod, etc.
  • Filming and/or recording are not allowed during our activities (for profit or non-profit).  If this is your main purpose
    to hire our services, please contact us at preguntame@adventourspr.com.  
  • Some attractions require special permits by the agency who manages the facilities.  We will not confirm your
    booking until you submit the authorization to take pictures, film or record; this includes the use of drones.
  • If you want to film our guides or drivers while they are doing their job, for profit or non-profit purposes, please
    contact us before booking selected activity.  This applies to individuals and tour operators doing scouting work.
  • Drones are not allowed during our activities.

LOGGING AND MEALS (not available during COVID-19)

  • We reserve the right to substitute hotels, if it should be necessary, from those mentioned in our itineraries.
  • Breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners are included only as specified in the itineraries.
  • If you require a special diet due to health condition, we should know it before submitting itineraries that include any
    type of meal.
  • All selected hotels and restaurants are for non-smokers.


  • Entertainment, special events, sightseeing tours, entrance fees, local guides, tips and service charge are included
    only as stipulated in the itinerary.
  • Tip to guide and/or driver are not included in price.
  • Remember to bring cash as balance due is to be paid cash on site. If at the last minute you want to charge your
    card for the balance due, a $10 fee will be added to your credit card.


  • Regulations for smokers have been established by the Government on public spaces and buildings, hotels, rooms,
    restaurants, offices, etc., plus the entrance of these places.
  • It is understood that all participants are non-smokers. Smoking is not allowed at any time (tours, meals,
    meetings, etc.); this could be a reason for stop the activity without refund for unused portions.
  • If transportation is provided, a cleaning fee could apply. The person who books the activity is responsible to inform
    the rest of the group about this policy.
  • Drivers and tour guides are not allowed to smoke at any moment.  If one of our guides or drivers smoke during a
    tour, please email us.
  • For donations for the advancement of a cure for respiratory diseases, please contact the Puerto Rican Lung
    Association at http://www.pulmonpr.org.


  • When you book a tour or activity with standards fares, you should never expect that the tour will be private.  We
    will fill the seats to capacity if possible.
  • Prices are revised at the end of each month and are valid until February 28, 2023 by the time we updated this page.
  • If you are planning to book online with several months ahead of traveling date, please contact us before booking
    since extra charges could be applied to your credit card due to the increase of operative cost.
  • AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO reserves the right to increase the price of our activities due to fluctuation in
    the cost of gasoline or any other expense related to selected activity. Nevertheless, we have decided not increase
    the cost of our activities in small vehicles up to 4 participants; instead, a $15 - $25 gasoline fee could be added if gasoline price is
    higher than $1.05 per litter.  Gas fee could vary when larger vehicles are used.  Please evaluate this fee before
    booking your trip.  


  • If you are going to use your own spray insect repellent be careful as it goes to the plants, river streams, cars or
    visitors in the area; natural ingredients, either cream or lotion is better for the environment.  Nevertheless, you
    should be careful as the ingredients in your hands could damage sensible parts of the vehicle.
  • Trash free zones applies to all places we visit and to our vehicles.


  • I have read, understand, and agree with the Terms and Conditions.  As the undersigned participant, and in
    representation of my group, affirm that I am age 18 years or older, that I have read and understand this terms and
    conditions and that this is a release of liability, as I am freely signing this agreement.

  • When you book and pay your non-refundable deposit or full payment of a tour you with AdvenTours / Birding
    PUERTO RICO you acknowledge that your participation in our activities entails known and unanticipated risks that
    could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to yourself, property or third parties. You
    also understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the
    activity you voluntarily enrolled.

  • AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO acts only as agent of the hotels, shuttle, tour companies (kayaks, boats,
    bicycles, diving, snorkeling, white river rafting, body rafting, caving, spelunking, and any other related activity),
    restaurants or owner or contractors, or by persons in their employ, providing accommodations, transportation,
    tours, outdoor activities or other services.

  • AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO, owner, tour guides and/or drivers  are not responsible or liable for any act,
    injury, loss, death, accident, damage, delay, omission, irregularity or non-performance occurring in connection with
    these arrangements.

  • When booking with us, you acknowledge that you or any anyone from your group is hurt or property is damaged
    during your participation in any of our activities, you will be found by a court of Law to have waived your right to
    maintain a lawsuit against AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO, our guides and/or drivers or any of the companies
    that we act as agents, on the basis of any claim from which you have released us.  Henceforth, when you pay for
    our services you agree to participate in our activities and use, if applicable, our equipment and facilities, and you
    further agree to indemnify and hold harmless AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO from any and all claims which are
    brought by and which are in any way connected with such use or participation in any of our activities.

  • When booking any activity (nature, cultural, outdoors) with AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO, I agree to assume
    all risk of personal injury or loss, bodily injury (including death), damage to, or loss, or destruction of any personal
    property resulting from or arising out of participation in selected activity. I also release, waive, indemnify, hold
    harmless, and discharge AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO, Hilda Morales-Nieves, and any independent contractor
    for AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO from all claims, damages, and injuries arising out of the service or activity. I
    intend that this agreement shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law to all claims, regardless of whether
    founded, in whole or in part, on any negligent act or omission of any of the released parties.

  • In case of any claim, only local Laws will apply on any legal issue and should be resolve only in a local court in
    Puerto Rico.  All expenses, including ours and our guides and/or drivers, should and will be paid by the person,
    agency, company or legal firm who starts the complaint no matter Judge´s decision on the case.

  • On wildlife observation activities, we cannot guarantee sightings as wild animals are unpredictable.  If necessary, we
    reserve the right to changes the itinerary in order to improve the trip depending on the season or unpredictable
    events that we cannot control.  If changes are made prior to the trip, you will be notified.

  • I recognize and agree that I should follow instructions when participating in any indoor or outdoor activity since it
    may be hazardous and involve a risk of physical injury. I expressly assume all risks associated with participating in
    the trip, including but not limited to: variable weather conditions; encounters with wildlife; existing and changing
    trail conditions; rocks; stumps; trees; erosion; collisions with natural objects; man-made objects; or other
    persons; and variations in terrain. Despite all these and other potential risks, I voluntarily accept all risks and
    choose to participate in the trip.

  • AdvenTours acts only as agent of the hotels, bus, and boat companies, restaurants or owner or contractors, or by
    persons in their employ, providing accommodations, transportation or other services.

  • We are not responsible or liable for any act, injury, loss, death, accident, damage, delay, omission, irregularity or
    non-performance occurring in connection with these arrangements.

  • AdvenTours  / Birding PUERTO RICO reserves the right to decline or retain any person(s) as member of the tour at
    any time.  

  • AdvenTours / Birding PUERTO RICO cannot assume responsibility of any fee or cost of travel arrangements not
    made through us.

  • As a visitor, you have the responsability to follow all local municipal, state, and federal government Laws, including
    COVID-19 protocols.
