How to book REGULAR (SHARED) BIRD OUTINGS online
In the booking system, all available dates will be in green. Select the date you want to go birding and follow instructions..
Light gray in the booking system means that the date is not available, it has been sold out.
In the Caledar of Shared Bird Outings only the dates available as a shared event will be shown in green.
Q & A - Shared Bird Outings
Q: How do I know which dates are available as a special shared bird outing?
A: The Calendar of Shared Bird Outings will show you available dates to join.
Q: What will happen when is the solo traveler who opens the date for other birders to join
and there is no other booking for that date?
A: Solo travelers opening a Shared Bird Outings will be charged the minimum of
participants required to offer a trip if the minimum is not reached. Rescheduling the trip
is not allowed, payments are non-refundable.
Q & A - Solo Travelers
Q: I am a solo traveler can I book a birding trip with you? Can I bring my camera?
A: As a solo traveler, if you are looking for bird photography, you must book a private trip.
Regular bird outings and Shared Events are not considered bird photography trips, you
should bring binoculars, not cameras. Many birders are complaining that birders with a
camera delay the birding in order to take their pictures. If you want to take your best
shots, consider booking a private bird photography trip. If you don´t have binoculars, we
rent binoculars for birders over 18 years old. We reserve the right of admission.

The Puerto Rican Owl nests in cavities in large hardwood trees and palms from April to June, according to previously published reports (Raffaele and others 1998). Atlas findings indicate breeding activity for this species occurs throughout the year, but increases from December to July and peaks in June.

What to expect during a shared bird outing?
At meeting point we will be asking which birds you have still
not seen since many birders start birding before selected
date. We will decide the best route depending of the birds
that you are missing.
Depending on the season and early birds, we will start
birding at El Portal Rain Forest Center; otherwise, we go
directly to the different birding spots, always open spaces
close to the vehicles.
