Fabulous Birding Tours!!
Review of AdvenTours Puerto Rico
Reviewed May 25, 2024 via mobile
Hilda was amazing!! She catered our two tours to our son’s
interests and both adults and our 10 year old son loved it. We
took the Birding 101 class and the Luquillo Half day tour. We
saw ~20 different birds; several only found in Puerto Rico. My
husband and I were surprised how much we all enjoyed these
outings. Hilda is so knowledgeable and passionate. She really
gets you excited about birding and we were surprised how
much we learned in such a short amount of time. I would highly
recommend this company and will use again in future trips.

Why a private birding trip?
For the past 35 years we have been offering private
birding trips for those who prefer to go with just the
bird guide.
After the lockdown, many people are now interested in
birds. We are having a lot of complaints from hardcore
birders when other clients joining a shared bird outting
delay the group because they want to take the perfect
picture of a bird or when they just disappear from the
group taking pictures of a bird without sharing with the
other birders the location of the bird that the other
have not seen yet. The happiness of a photographer
is the frustration of a birder.
Once again, our shared birding trip of January 8, 2026
was delayed by a participant that was taking pictures
of a hummingbird and never shared with the group the
location of the hummer. Since we cannot control clients
who don´t follow instructions, and to avoid complaints,
as of January 8, 2026, we decided that on any shared
bird outing, we will not accept birders on site arriving
with a camera or using the camera as binoculars. We
want to avoid complaints from the other birders
participating in a shared birding trip.
If you prefer a private tour or plan to take pictures with
any type of camera (ultra zoom, point-and-shoot, ultra
zoom, DSLR digital cameras with zoom lens), please
book a private bird outing.

Lowlands and edge of the Forest refers to any place less
crowded and under 1,476´ (450 mts) where it is easier to
find our Iguaca (Parrot). We will be birding always close to
the vehicles and in open spaces.
You can add an extra hour to go to Luquillo for the Mango
and Adelaide´s Warbler.
Endemic bird species: Oriole, Tody, Tanager, Spindalis,
Bullfinch, Flycatcher, Woodpecker, Green Mango, Emerald,
Lizard Cuckoo, plus Loggerhead Kingbird and Eastern
Red-legged Thrush, and seasonal migratory bird species.
