The Western Birding Loop is a long
full-day trip that combines the very
best of all our bird watching options
available in the west and southwest
regions.
 It also includes an
extension for the Puerto Rican
Nightjar.

We depart from Mayagüez to the
town of Maricao where we will be
looking for at least twelve species.
Before hurricane María,  wild
population of Puerto Rican Amazon
and those waiting to be released
went back to the aviary at El Yunque
where they are kept until the release
program restarts.  In the afternoon
we drive to the coast in search of
four more endemics.  We will
provide time for lunch (not included
in price) and bathroom stops.

.
ENDEMIC SPECIES:  Tody, Lizard Cuckoo, Vireo, Bullfinch, Tanager, Spindalis, Woodpecker, Oriole, Emerald, Green Mango,
Elfin-woods Warbler, Flycatcher, Adelaide´s Warbler, Nightjar, Screech Owl, Yellow-shouldered Black Bird

If you compare this full-day birding trip with the one we offer at El Yunque National Forest, you expend more time on the roads
as the sites are not close, but you will have better chances to see the Elfin-woods Warbler, plus Antillean Euphonia,
Yellow-shouldered Blackbird, and Lesser Antillean Pewee.
