The Western Birding Loop is a long full-day trip that
combines the very best of all our bird watching
options available in the west and southwest regions.
It also includes an optional extension trip for the
Puerto Rican Nightjar.

We depart from Mayagüez to Maricao where we will
be looking for at least twelve species.  Before
hurricane María,  wild population of Puerto Rican
Amazon and those waiting to be released returned to
the aviary at El Yunque. In the afternoon we drive to
the coast in search of four more endemics.  We will
provide time for lunch (not included in price) and
bathroom stops.

If you compare this full-day birding trip with the one
we offer at El Yunque National Forest, you expend
more time on the roads as the sites are not close, but
you will have better chances to see the Elfin-woods
Warbler, plus the Antillean Euphonia,Lesser Antillean
Pewee, and Yellow-shouldered Blackbird.
