Full Moon Nights
In 2001 we obtained special permits with Forest Service to
offer night hikes at El Yunque National Forest.  We were
allowed to offer the hikes on a private basis at El Portal
Trail as the gate at La Coca Falls is closed by 6:00 PM.
From time to time, private Areytos (Taíno ceremonies) took
place at the parking lot the visitors center.  The hikes were
offered with a minimum of 2 participants.

It will take some time until Forest Service will be able to
reopen El Portal Rainforest Center, as the structure and
trail suffered the impacts of both hurricanes Irma and María
in September, 2017.

Five months later, outfitters were given the opportunity to go
back to the Forest under special permits and limited
access:  Road 988 (Angelito Trail and Puente Roto) and
Road 191 up to La Coca Falls.  Outfitters can use Angelito
Trail twice a month.

Under the new special permits, we can still offer the night
activities.  We have made some changes and decided to
established specific dates on
for the general public with a minimum of 15 and a
maximum of 25 participants.

El Yunque Full Moon Nights
Please check calendar.
AdvenTours PUERTO RICO  is an equal opportunity
provider under special permits at El Yunque Naitonal Forest.
El Yunque Hybrid combines the experience of being in the Forest during daylight (El Yunque Hidden Wonders) when the big tour buses and
crowds are almost gone; after twilight (El Yunque Nights), the real adventure starts when the nocturnal orchestra of the habitants of the Forest
begin their chorus.  Although we go on full moon nights, we will be looking for the glow-in-the-dark mushrooms.  Meeting time depends on
sunset, tour lasts approximately 4 - 5 hours.  This tour starts in Luquillo and
ends at La Coca Falls, subject to weather conditions.  If you have
a private group and need another date, contact us at your convenience.   This tour is available at any time during the year, but the Full Moon
