Its official name is Ceiba State
Forest, also known as Medio
Mundo and Daguao, and most of
its land is located within the old
naval station at Roosevelt
We have a special permits with
the Local Authority for the
Redevelopment of Roosevelt
Roads to offer different
activities, such as biking, hiking,
walking, sightseeing, and
birding. After hurricanes Irma
and María, the old naval station
was activated as a base, but we
still have our permits to go in.
The hurricanes hit hard this side
of the mainland, but birds are
truly survivors. We invite you
to join us in this unique
Endemics species at the Ceiba Forest (old naval station at Roosevelt Roads also known as Medio Mundo and
Daguao): Tody, Yellow-shouldered Black Bird, Adelaide´s Warbler, Woodpecker, Flycatcher, Oriole, Vireo, Screech
Owl, and Spindalis. Caribbean specialties: Green-throated Carib, Antillean Crested Hummingbird, Caribbean
Elaenia, Caribbean Coot, and other species, such as: Venezuelan Troupial, White-crowned Pigeon, and migratory
species. For more trips in the region, please visit this link. Small groups are welcome!
|Due to the number of people visiting El Yunque National Forest during the Holy Week/Weekend (Wednesday through Sunday, including Good Friday and Easter) and the month of July, we DO NOT OFFER
tours to El Yunque other than the Night Hike and/or Ancestral Areyto. Access to the Forest is limited and we cannot guarantee the quality during those days.
