We did this tour while on a Royal Caribbean cruise. This was the BEST excursion I have ever done. Glad you are up and running again! Darlene Darrow Garsteig |

Due to the number of people visiting El Yunque National Forest during the Holy Week/Weekend (Wednesday through Sunday, including Good Friday and Easter) and the month of July, we DO NOT OFFER tours to El Yunque other than the Night Hike and/or Ancestral Areito. Access to the Forest is limited and we cannot guarantee the quality during those days. |

Lets add more memories to your night... Ruta Taína @ El Yunque National Forest (Nocturnal Sounds Forest Bath) |
If you are short of time or you are not part of a larger group, this could be your best option to see El Yunque when the crowds are gone! The trail at El Portal is a short loop trail of 0.3 miles within the land of an old coffee plantation, Hacienda La Catalina. This are is an excellent example of Secondary Forest. We will walk in the dark in search of critters and the glow-in-the-dark cocubá as our Ancestors did. Depending on the season, you will see endemic species coexsiting with other (coffee, breadfruit, plantain, and papaya trees) . Our target species are newborn coquis, glow-in-the-dark mushrooms, lizards, critters, and the cocubá. If you are looking for owl, you should book our Night Owling as it is done in a different area. |
Minimum required depending on hike. |
