We follow EcoYoga Principles in all our
activities at El Yunque.
Connections combines historical and
cultural aspects
of El Yunque National
Forest and the efforts after hurricanes
Irma, María, Fiona and storm Ernesto!
This is our best story telling El Yunque tour.

History and Nature blends in this activity;
you will
learn about the indigenous
groups
living in these sacred mountains,
gold mines, export/import activity from
the ports in the nearby cities, how the
Land was
protected, who built the roads
and picnic areas
, how many coffee
plantations
were built at El Yunque, the
only tropical forest administer by the
United States.

Daytime option

We meet at 8:15 AM at El Portal de El
Yunque Visitor Center
(entrance fee not
included in price—$8 per person 16 years or
older).
After a short introduction of the
Forest, we drive to the PR-191 La Mina
North Recreational Corridor.  Stops at
La Coca, Yocajú Tower, Baño de Oro,
and a portion of Caimitillo Trail (optional).
Later, as we go back to El Portal, we stop
at Puente Roto for photo opportunities.

Swimming, river crossing or stepping
on rocks is not allowed.

Stops at La Coca and Caimitillo are
subject to availability as soon as the
construction in this area is completed.

At the end we will stop at a local business
in Palmer where you can buy coffee,
pitorro (very local rum), and cigars,
including products made in Puerto Rico.

More than a sightseeing, this an
educational activity, narrated by a local
resident guide, which will give you the
opportunity to see the Forest from another
perspective.

This is an excellent option for extended
families, student travel, and corporate
groups.

Nightime option

A nightime 3  hours option is available, El
Yunque Walk at Night
for slow mobility
visitors or those who don´t want to go on
trails at night.

You can either meet us at El Yunque or we
can pick you up in selected hotels in Río
Grande, Luquillo, Fajardo, Condado, and
Isla Verde.  We arrive at the Forest when
the gate at La Coca Falls is already closed.
You will experience how night arrives at the
rain forest.  We will be looking for small
coquís, night critters, glow-in-the-dark
mushrooms,
cucubanos, cucuyos, and
more.
.
If you are traveling from/to Vieques and Culebra Islands and need a tour with transfers, please contact us.
.
Due to the number of people visiting El Yunque National Forest during the Holy Week/Weekend (Wednesday through Sunday, including
Good Friday and Easter) and the
month of July, we DO NOT OFFER tours to El Yunque other than the Night Hike and/or
Ancestral Areito.  Access to the Forest is limited and we cannot guarantee the quality during those days.
For European Nations,
please
contact us only via
regular phone or email.
When you book directly with us, 100% of your money is spent locally, not abroad.
