This birding tour package includes the very best of the eastern region with a local and resident
Certified Tour Guide.
You will spend two nights in the eastern tip looking for approximately 12 endemics, plus five of the hummingbirds
that nest in Puerto Rico. You will be visiting US only tropical rain forest and the old naval base at Roosevelt Roads
(Ceiba Forest, which is a dry forest like Guánica). The trip includes other birding sites only known to locals.
Just bring your binoculars, camera, and personal belongings; ground transportation, all meals, double room with
tax, Certified Tour Guide, entrance fees, daily local fruit juice and water. Plus we will provide complimentary pictures

Tips, binoculars, lunch
El Yunque is one of the best spots when you want to find as
many endemics as possible in only one birding site. What to
see? Lizard Cuckoo, Flycatcher, Tanager, Woodpecker,
Spindalis, Oriole, Emerald, Green Mango, Screech Owl, Tody,
and Bullfinch. Rare endemics seen in our previous birding trips
are the Elfin-woods Warbler, Parrot. Other near endemic
species are: Antillean Euphonia and Loggerhead Kingbird.
You can combine a half-day birding trip at El Yunque with the
Colibrí Quest (below) or the Eastern Coastal Dry Forest (Ceiba
Due to the impact of hurricanes Irma and María, access to the
Forest is limited. Your birding trip will take place in the lower
side of El Yunque up to La Coca Falls.

What is the Colibrí Quest? The Colibrí Quest was designed with
hummingbird lovers in mind. This is the best opportunity to see the five
hummers that nest in Puerto Rico in a short time frame: Puerto Rican
Emerald, Puerto Rican Green Mango, Antillean Mango, Antillean Crested
Hummingbird, and Green-throated Carib.
Where we go? We have several check-up points at El Yunque National
Forest, Río Grande, Fajardo, and Ceiba.
Best time to see them? They will always be around, but he best time to look
for them is from September through April.
This birding trip is an excellent option for cruise ship passengers since we
can start late in the morning. Your ship should be leaving not earlier than

|Due to the number of people visiting El Yunque National Forest during the Holy Week/Weekend (Wednesday through Sunday, including
Good Friday and Easter) and the month of July, we DO NOT OFFER tours to El Yunque other than the Night Hike and/or Ancestral Areyto.
Access to the Forest is limited and we cannot guarantee the quality during those days.
